CRLS Squash is seeking enthusiastic squash lovers to join our team.

Position Open: Assistant Coach

  • Position Type: Part-time, seasonal (~Nov 1, 2026 – Feb 12, 2027)
  • Location: Harvard Murr Center Squash Courts, Allston, MA
  • Estimated Time Commitment: 1-3x/week, practices are ~1.5 hours each.
  • Compensation: $300 – $1,500 (depending on level of involvement)

Overview

The Cambridge Squash Alliance first established squash as a co-ed club sport at the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School (Cambridge’s public high school) in winter 2024-2025. 

We are now seeking an assistant squash coach to help build our team for the 2026–2027 winter season, our third year!

The ideal candidate for the CRLS Assistant Squash Coach position is an experienced squash player who is passionate about teaching/inspiring public high school students to build their skills and develop a love for the sport. The assistant coach position is flexible in terms of time and involvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head coach in organizing and leading engaging and inclusive team practices 1-3 times per week.
    Our TENTATIVE practice times for the 2026-2027 season: Weds 3:45-5:30, Fri 3:45-5:30, Sun 9-11.
  • Help coach student-athletes across a range of skill levels (mostly beginners) with a focus on skill-building, sportsmanship, team cohesion and team spirit.
  • Help foster a safe, respectful, and positive team environment, and establish a positive, inclusive team culture.
  • The assistant coach may have opportunities to expand their role and take on the Head Coach position as we grow our program.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Prior experience competing at a high level of squash.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to engage positively with a diverse group of high school students.
  • Successful completion of CORI background check and SafeSport training (required prior to start).

Preferred:

  • Experience working in school and/or youth development settings.
  • Interest and enthusiasm in building a robust public school squash program with long-term potential.
  • CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Level 1 or higher US Squash Coaching certification.
